Many of you will have seen the speed sign moving around the village. This was purchased by the Appleton with Eaton Parish Council in June 2020. The object of the sign is to try and reduce and monitor the speed of traffic through the villages, so with that in mind, it is moved in a random manner and set in various directions. It records speed, and traffic numbers, in both directions at the same time, also if the speed sign appears not to be working, it probably is, and recording!
We hope to update this section after each movement of the sign.
After three weeks on the Netherton road, this is the data from the speed sign.
As you can see, a high percentage of traffic is travelling within the 30 mph limit (76% and 59%).
But the speeds of the remaining are still very high.
66 mph really !!.
